Mazurka – it is a simple story about young Fryderyk Chopin and his music. It is a story written with words, sounds and colors. With prose and songs. Fairytale and at the same time a real story. With a note of melancholy and sense of humor. From the Mazovia Region and at the same time from the world. Both, young and adult readers learn from the book not only when Fryderyk was born, how were his parents, how many sisters he had, what his teachers said about him, when he started to compose, where he spent holidays and how he grew up. This isn’t a book only about a genius boy. It is a book first of all about his music. Authors attempt to answer the question: where does Fryderyk’s music come from? They undertake this challenge because from their earliest years they have studied Chopin music in theory and practice. The book comprises 18 stories. The CD contains 16 songs. Anna Kierkosz wrote texts, songs and stories, Bogna Czechowska provided illustrations, Krzysztof Herdzin and Agnieszka Widlarz composed music. Songs on the CD are performed by the following Polish jazz singers: Dorota Miśkiewicz, Agnieszka Wilczyńska, Mietek Szcześniak and Janusz Szrom.
